Samantha Ferro
Samantha Ferro, born in Milan, began her career as a model and later pursued acting. A graduate of San Francisco State University’s Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts program, Samantha is a visionary in media. As the Executive Producer and host of Crave, now in its fifth season, she champions Italian-American culture and empowers a diverse community through dynamic content.
Samantha's passion for storytelling and helping others showcase their talents has been a driving force since a young age. Believing that passion and love can transform the world, she is dedicated to building a supportive community where dreams come true.

Her leadership has earned her prestigious awards and recognition from the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts Department and international media. Samantha is committed to taking Crave to new heights, expanding her impact in the media world.
Co-producer, Host, and 49ers Commentator
Alex Lopez
Alex Lopez is excited to kick off her fourth season as a co-host on CRAVE, where she passionately covers all things San Francisco 49ers. As a lifelong 49ers fan, Alex’s connection to the team is deeply personal, as her family has been season ticket holders for over 25 years, making 49ers games a cherished family tradition. Alex now attends all the home games and hopes to one day travel to away games.

She graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Broadcast Electronic Communication Arts, further fueling her dedication to sports broadcasting.

Her enthusiasm extends to her vibrant social media presence, especially on Twitter, where she has built a strong following within the 49ers community.

With the 2024 NFL season just around the corner, Alex can’t wait to continue sharing her super fan perspective on CRAVE. Her segment is a must-listen and now must-watch for every 49ers fan, NFL enthusiast, and anyone just learning about American football.

Iacopo Gori
Graduated from the University of Florence with a degree in Philosophy, Lacopo Gori brings his passion for storytelling, music, art, and everything Italian to his third season with CRAVE. As a journalist living between Milan and Florence, Italy, he serves as a chief director at 'Corriere della Sera,' where he specializes in video and multimedia and oversees live broadcasts and video investigations for CorriereTv. Lacopo is committed to providing real-time updates from Italy, helping audiences connect with and fall in love with its rich culture. Dr. Alberta Lai
Born in Cagliari, Alberta Lai graduated in Classical Studies at the University of Cagliari and earned a doctorate in Greek Philology from the University of Urbino. She studied Greek paleography and codicology at the Vatican School of Paleography and completed a Master’s in Didactics of Italian as a Foreign Language at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. Alberta has taught Latin and Greek in classical high schools in Cagliari and Italian language and literature at the Universities of Reykjavik (as a lecturer appointed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and British Columbia (UBC, Vancouver) as a visiting professor.
She has served as cultural attaché at the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Oslo and later directed the IIC in Vancouver, Chicago, and Prague. Since Fall 2023, she has been the director of the Italian Cultural Institute in San Francisco. Alberta has published numerous articles on Greek theatre, particularly on Aeschylus, and on Alexandrian poetry in Italian classical philology journals. In 2007, she was awarded the Knight’s Medal by the King of Norway.

Associate Professor at San Francisco State University
Miriam Smith
Doctor Miriam is a lawyer, speaker, and educator with a passion for folk dance. She’s thrilled to join the Crave Season 5 team and eagerly anticipates the Italian documentary filming in Summer 2025, which will explore Italian heritage with students from San Francisco State University. Professor Miriam believes that creating a documentary is a collaborative effort, and she is committed to providing students with enriching experiences abroad that enhance their film production skills in a new cultural context.
